About the Advisory Service

The Community Solutions Network is a program of Future Cities Canada, led by Evergreen with funding provided by Infrastructure Canada. Launched in the spring of 2019, Evergreen and lead technical partner Open North offer - at no cost to communities - a comprehensive Advisory Service for Canadian communities interested in developing and implementing open smart cities projects. The Community Solutions Advisory Service provides personalized data and technology-related support through open smart city experts as well as various courses on the learning management system. Since the beginning of the program, over 50 communities of all sizes across Canada have been engaged.

The Community Solution Network’s online course platform was initially offered as an exclusive feature of the Advisory Service for the program’s participating communities. In order to broaden and increase the dissemination of Open Smart City knowledge and best practices across the public sphere, we are now offering this resource to municipal public servants and community leaders working on Open Smart City initiatives across Canada.

Who is this for?

Our courses are primarily designed to cater the needs of public servants, community leaders as well as domain experts working with Open Smart Cities topics of governance, data, hardware and software and people & engagement. In addition, practitioners and scholars of smart city domains are welcome to join!

How to Register

You may register directly via our Learning Management System page. Simply click on SIGNUP on the top right corner of the screen and fill out the questionnaire. Requests should be approved within a week. As a way to preserve the quality of community, we may refuse profiles with little to no relevant information. We accept registrations from all sectors, but will prioritize municipal public servants given the limited number of spaces.
